The HD 620S may well be part of the line of HD 600 headphones (like the HD 650), but it draws strong inspiration from the HD 500 (HD 599) range in terms of design. The headset is therefore rather imposing, with its massive headband attached to the back of the earcups, which are also relatively large in size. This proven design is supposed to offer excellent comfort over time, which allows you to enjoy your music and/or games for long hours without experiencing fatigue.

The perfect alliance between sound insulation and open soundstage?

Unlike many Sennheiser headphone references, which adopt an open design, the HD 620S is a closed headphone, meaning that its earcups are completely sealed. The advantage of such a structure is to offer a certain sound insulation so that the listener feels the smallest details of his music, which comes at the expense of the extent of the soundstage. Open-back headphones, on the contrary, offer a particularly vast soundstage but do not isolate any external noise at all. With this HD 620S, Sennheiser announces that it has succeeded in combining the best of both worlds by working the speakers in such a way as to offer the widest possible soundstage while taking advantage of the sound insulation of the closed structure.

The HD 620S houses two 42mm drivers supported by a 150 ohm voice coil. The whole promises a sound signature that “combines remarkable fidelity with deep, detailed bass, for perfect harmony between clarity and power” as well as a “vigorous dynamics across the entire frequency spectrum

Beyond all these great promises which should delight both lovers of hi-fi quality and players looking for a cutting-edge sound experience, the HD 620S is sold with a carrying case as well as a 1 .8 m ending in a 3.5 mm mini-jack plug. This has a screw thread allowing the addition of a 6.3 mm jack adapter, also included with purchase. A 4.4mm jack cable will also be offered for sale separately starting this summer.

The HD 620S is already available for pre-order and will be released on June 6 at a price of €349.90.
