Apple’s Photos app is reportedly set to see big changes in an effort to mimic the AI-boosted features found on Android devices.

A “magic eraser” functionality similar to that already found in certain smartphones running Android 14 (including the Google Pixel range) should soon arrive on iPhone, according to AppleInsider. This feature would be nicknamed “Clean Up” and would allow elements of a photo to be erased using AI.

The feature, which is expected to be presented during today’s “Let Loose” Keynote, is already being tested on MacOS 15, and could therefore arrive on iPhones as quickly as possible. , potentially with iOS18 on the iPhone 16, or even on some of the iPads which will be announced during the event.

We clearly feel that the Apple brand is trying to catch up in the field of artificial intelligence, compared to companies such as Google, Samsung, or Microsoft. We should therefore expect to see the same functionalities found on Android devices gradually land on high-performance products, with the help of generative AI.
