Samsung Galaxy A16: the technical sheet of Samsung’s entry-level smartphone leaked

Contrary to common belief, Samsung’s best-selling smartphones each year are not its flagships, its Galaxy S23, S24, etc. These are actually smartphones from its Galaxy A range: for example, in 2023, the eighth best-selling smartphone in the world was the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G. In tenth position, we also found its 4G variant. And for the first half of this year 2024, the classic Samsung Galaxy A15 holds the third position of the best-selling smartphones behind the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Its 5G version is in seventh position.

In other words, Samsung’s low-end model is highly anticipated every year, especially since it tends to offer technical characteristics that are always interesting compared to its selling price. If we are to believe brand new leaks from SamInsider, a European resale site has prematurely published the technical sheet of the Samsung Galaxy A16, which will allow impatient people to get an idea of its potential capabilities.

An impressive technical sheet for the price

So, if we are to believe this leak, the Samsung Galaxy A16 should offer a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. As a processor, the A16 should feature a MediaTek Helio G99 chip, while the 5G variant should have an Exynos 1330 processor. In terms of autonomy, both models will offer a substantial 5000 mAh battery, coupled with 25 watts fast charging. The smartphones will also be compatible with Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and should have a fingerprint sensor.

On the camera side, both models should offer a 50 Mp main sensor, a 5 Mp ultra wide angle sensor and finally a 2 Mp macro sensor. This new leak does not indicate the prices at which these two new models will be offered, but if we base ourselves on previous leaks, the classic variant would be offered at around €210, while the 5G model should reach €240.
