In Korea, some high-end Samsung smartphones are starting to benefit from One UI 6.1, which allows you to use some Galaxy AI features.
As announced in mid-April by Samsung, certain older Galaxy smartphone models are starting to receive the update to One UI 6.1. If this name doesn’t mean anything to you, this is the latest version of the Samsung smartphone interface, taking advantage of both Android 14, but also AI features, called Galaxy AI.
At the beginning of May, various reports indicate that the update has started to be deployed on certain older devices. As a reminder, until now, Galaxy AI was only available on the Galaxy S24, S23, as well as the Korean firm’s latest folding phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

Here is the list of devices that are starting to receive the update:
- Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra;
- Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra;
- Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4;
- Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3.
If the update is not yet available in Europe, the release in Korea generally indicates that the deployment on the Old Continent should not take long.
What does the update contain?
The update of approximately 2.8 GB allows, among other things, all of these smartphones to benefit from new features based on generative AI. That being said, not all of Galaxy AI made the trip.
Here are the available features:
- Circle to search;
- Instant translation;
- Message wizard;
- Assistant in Samsung browser;
- Transcription wizard, in audio recorder.
As for the features which will remain a priori exclusive for the most recent models, namely those released from 2023, here they are:
- Slow-motion AI;
- Generative reframing.
