The Chavanne carpooling area, located at Montmélian, has been accessible since summer 2022.

This area is a fantastic development, carried out in collaboration between the Communauté de Communes Cœur de Savoie and the committed company O2D Environnement. The Lille-based company is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It specializes in creating parking lots and permeable developments using recycled plastic.

The 4,600m² motorway area for a total of 89 spaces was designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, as explained by Jean-Philippe Buquet, spokesperson in charge of prescriptions at 02D Environnement.

This project meets the local objectives of the PCAET of the CC Cœur de Savoie (multiply its solar production by 30 by 2030), but also allowed the community to get ahead of the regulations – the acceleration laws RES and Climate have in fact required the installation of photovoltaic panels in French car parks since July 1, 2023, as well as devices promoting the permeability and infiltration of rainwater.
