REGIONAL. The excellence of the artisans of the local weekly press across the province was celebrated on April 30, on the occasion of the 75th Grands Prix des Hebdos du Québec gala. The Mauricie/South Shore weeklies shined throughout the evening, which was held in Trois-Rivières.

Individual prices

Journalist Bernard Lepage achieved a hat trick by collecting three awards: third place in the category Arts, culture, community life for his text “ Disney tattooed on the r”, published in L’Hebdo du Saint-Maurice; a second position in the category and hobbies for his text “ Yvon Marchand’s fishing stories“, published in L’Écho de La Tuque; and a first position in the category Environment and agri-food for his text “ Phytoclone: ​​the essential ally of nurseries“, published in L’Écho de Maskinongé.

For their part, the editors-in-chief of L’Hebdo Journal, Marie-Eve B. Alarie, and of Courrier Sud, Marie-Eve Veillette, each won two prizes.

Marie-Eve B. Alarie earned a second position in the categories Arts, culture, community life And Municipal affairs for his texts Helping each other between veterans ” And ” Technology for better mobility in Trois-Rivières“, published in L’Hebdo Journal last year.

Marie-Eve Veillette stood out in the categories Environment and agri-food (second position) and Education (third position) for his texts “ Haskap berries to push your limits ” And ” Arm oil in the cafeteria“, published in Le Courrier Sud.

In the category Educationjournalist Stéphane Laroche, from L’Hebdo Journal, took second position with his text “ Newton, a reassuring presence at Cégep de Trois-Rivières“.

Finally, in the category Photographythe journalist Jonathan Cossette stood out with his photo of Benoit Rocheleau, the multi-instrumentalist of Guy!Guy!Guy!published in L’Hebdo Journal.

Prizes awarded to newspapers

Furthermore, the sales and production team of L’Écho de Maskinongé finished on the second step of the podium in the category Best print advertising for its promotion entitled “ Anniversary sale“.

For its part, the Courrier Sud team took third position in the category Best Printed and/or Digital Project thanks to the production of the magazine “ There for you“, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Heart of Quebec.

Remember that the Grands Prix des Hebdos are an initiative of Hebdos Québec. They were created in 1949. Hundreds of participants, from more than fifty weeklies across the province, submitted pieces in the proposed categories.
