How beautiful it is: Welcome to our new website!

Dear readers, those of you who are used to visiting laliberte.ch have certainly paused for a moment this Monday morning. And for good reason: we are proud to present our brand new site! A wonderful tool that will breathe a breath of fresh air into our digital presence. Take a look.

1 A complete overhaul

Perhaps you first noticed the disappearance of the wide red band that welcomed the main menu. Or the titles, now two-tone. No matter which window you entered laliberte.ch through this Monday morning, the change could not have escaped you: it is radical. Signed by the Romandie branding and web solutions agency Antistatique, this global overhaul of our site aims to be more elegant, rhythmic, efficient and flexible.

From a journalistic point of view, this new version will allow us to continue to fulfill our mission: to inform you. Much more manageable, the main navigation will adapt to major current events. It already highlights some themes that are particularly dear to you at the start of autumn, such as Fribourg-Gottéron. Editorial choices that will then be reflected on the home page, designed to be both effective and rhythmic. You will obviously still find the strong promises of our editorial staff, from the regional section to Alex’s drawing and our various cultural events.

A new podcast, Cirer le banc, focuses each month on the career of a player in cantonal football.

In the detail of each article, everything has also been put in place to offer you a fluid and pleasant reading, enriched with images, videos, links or graphic breaths. And, now, the portrait of the author who signs the lines that you are about to read. Far from being a narcissistic whim, this new visual signature will allow you to put a face to each pen that you appreciate within our editorial staff. It will also ensure, and this is essential in the era of fake newsthe traceability, and therefore the credibility, of each piece of information that we publish.

2 New appointments

The changes we are presenting to you today are not just a matter of form. They also concern the substance. First of all, let’s mention the launch of our Whatsapp channel Talus La Lib, which embodies the development of our editorial offer linked to Fribourg football. This channel is also accompanied by a new podcast, Polish the benchwhich focuses each month on the life journey of a player in cantonal football. First guest: Joël Corminbœuf.

For the rest, it is difficult to list all the new features that have already been launched or that will be launched very soon, as there are so many of them. They concern our monitoring of Fribourg-Gottéron matches, as well as a meeting focused on activities to do in the region or our various newsletters. Among others. You don’t want to miss anything? Go to laliberte.ch!

3 Also on the networks

And not only that! Because in truth, the breath of fresh air embodied by our new site is blowing across all of our digital presences. Beyond Whatsapp, all of our social networks will echo it. On Instagram, the graphic redesign will obviously infuse our publications. But the biggest new feature undoubtedly concerns our use of video. With a milestone in the history of Freedom: our arrival on TikTok! Internet users will meet our journalist Geoffroy Brändlin, who will guide them daily through the twists and turns of Fribourg news. On the program: short and inventive formats as the platform likes them, but without the slightest compromise on the quality and reliability that are the trademarks of Freedom.

@lalibfribourg Hockey season is now! But what can we expect from @gotteron_officiel? (1/2) PS: am I the only one who says sweater? #Hockey #fribourg #gotteron #sport #media ♬ original sound – La Liberté

4 Technical adaptations

All the new features we are presenting to you today are accompanied by major changes in the work processes of our editorial staff, which can notably rely on an internally developed management tool. They also imply some habits to be adopted by readers. Let’s start with what is not changing, or almost not at all: the e-paper application. This one is also being updated this morning. The new version will offer you greater reading comfort, without however disrupting your benchmarks. A simple visit to your application store will be enough to carry out the update.

This Monday, September 23rd, however, represents a slightly more significant upheaval for users of our news application. It is deactivated. To gain agility, it is replaced by an application modeled on the website, which was designed primarily to be displayed on the vertical screens of mobile phones. To install it on the home screen of your phone or tablet, follow our practical guide.

Whether you consult us on mobile, tablet or computer, on laliberte.ch or on social networks, we look forward to starting this new stage of our history with you. Happy reading!
