Zurich – Lugano 1:1

Zurich and Lugano drew 1-1. Two 24-year-old South Americans score goals in the top fight.

The guests from Ticino, who were still in action in the Conference League on Thursday, started the game furiously and had three good chances to score in the first five minutes. They failed twice because of FCZ goalie Yanick Brecher, once because of the edge of the goal. A good 20 minutes later, Lugano made up for what they missed and scored a deserved lead through Ignacio Aliseda. After a pass from Renato Steffen, the Argentine finished with a well-placed low shot.

While the first half in Letzigrund, where national coach Murat Yakin was also a guest, was varied, things slowed down in the second 45 minutes. Lugano seemed a little more aggressive offensively, but Zurich impressed with good positional play. The two teams caught up on points with leaders Lucerne, who also scored a point in the 2-2 draw against Lausanne-Sport on Saturday.
