Around two million tickets have already been sold for the Paralympic Games in Paris one day before the opening ceremony. “We have stadiums that will be full,” announced Tony Estanguet, head of the organizing committee.
He is optimistic that the remaining 500,000 tickets will be sold in the coming days. The London record of 2.5 million tickets sold could therefore be equalled in Paris.
“Incredible opening ceremony” expected
After the Olympics, the “party” will continue with the Paralympics, said IPC boss Andrew Parsons at a press conference: “It’s great to feel the atmosphere here. The athletes all seem very happy, everyone is very positive. We’ve only had positive feedback so far.”
