It is a liberated Jannik Sinner who reaches the round of 16 of the US Open by beating the number 87 in the world Chris O’Connell in three sets 6-1 6-4 6-2. The match, which lasted an hour and 56 minutes, was certainly not spectacular, with Jannik going full steam ahead in the first set up to 5-0 and then closing 6-1 in less than half an hour with 88 percent of points with the first serve. The second set in which the Australian often has to defend himself but is more solid with his serve thanks to which he stays in the match. The break suffered in the 3rd game, however, is irrecoverable and Jannik also takes home the second set, 6-4. In the third set the number 87 in the ranking loses his serve immediately, fails to catch up with the number 1 in the world and in the 7th game suffers another break. Sinner serves for the match at 5-2 and does not take any steps back: the eighth finals are his.
