At around four o’clock in the morning, there was a major police operation in Baden on Mellingerstrasse near the Hotel Linde. As “Blick” writes, the officers were heavily armed and arrests were made.

The Aargau cantonal police confirmed the incident to the Aargauer Zeitung. “There was an argument between two men, but it is currently unclear what connection the men are in,” said Daniel Saridis, media spokesperson for the Aargau police. “Shots were fired.” The police found an injured male on site, who had to be taken to hospital. He is a 34-year-old Swiss man.

“Based on the initial findings and statements from informants, one person quickly became the focus of the search,” the police continued. A 33-year-old Swiss man from the region was arrested at his home shortly after the incident. The public prosecutor’s office opened proceedings and the Aargau cantonal police have begun investigations.

The extensive investigation resulted in Mellingerstrasse between the Burghalde roundabout and the Schulhausplatz intersection having to be closed for several hours. Traffic was diverted by the Baden fire department. (hot water)
