At the end of a major operation, the gendarmes managed to find the trace of David Balland on the night of Wednesday January 22. The young boss of Ledger, a start-up in the cryptocurrency sector valued at nearly a billion dollars, was kidnapped from his home on Tuesday.

For two days, around fifty police officers and gendarmes had been deployed in the town of , in Cher, in search of David Balland, an entrepreneur from the region kidnapped Tuesday January 21, at dawn, from his home. Released on the night of Wednesday January 22, he is cared for by doctors.

The GIGN had invaded a house on Wednesday, where they broke down the door, in vain. The business manager had been kidnapped in Méreau, near Vierzon. Since yesterday, the area around his home has been completely cordoned off by the police. David Balland is the founder of Ledger, a start-up specializing in ultra-secure cryptocurrency safes for online purchases. His company, known today throughout the world, is valued at nearly a billion dollars. The criminals had demanded a large ransom in cryptocurrency in exchange for his release. The investigation continues in search of the kidnappers.
