The Chicago Blackhawks will likely cut ties with forward Philipp Kurashev in the near future, reports The Athletic.
Kurashev, who could become a restricted free agent next summer, will be traded by the trade deadline or simply not receive a qualifying offer in June, according to reports from The Athletic.
The former Quebec Remparts player is in the final year of a 2-year contract earning him US$2.25 million annually. He scored 18 goals and 36 assists in 75 games – mostly alongside young prodigy Connor Bedard – last season.
-But the Swiss has only scored 4 goals and had 3 assists in 32 games so far since the start of the campaign, even being left out in 12 of the Blackhawks’ last 16 games.
