The OnePlus Open 2 should offer the fastest charging for a foldable smartphone

To build up the hype among the Chinese public, Oppo is slowly revealing new information about its next foldable device. We know that it should be the thinnest foldable smartphone on the market today. It should also benefit from IPX8/IPX9 certification for water resistance. But that’s not all: today Oppo confirmed a new rumor about its next device.

Fast charging and ultra-thin design

Thus, it was one of the leaders of the Oppo firm, Zhou Tibao, who was able to affirm it on Weibo: the Oppo Find N5 will feature 50W fast charging, namely the fastest charging ever integrated into a foldable smartphone. “To be honest, whenever we talked about wireless charging, everyone was very confused because it required a thicker device and the usage rate was not very high. So, this feature was sometimes available and sometimes not, mainly because the wireless charging usage scenario was unclear“Zhou Yibao begins like this. If we base ourselves on the history of OnePlus and Oppo, all these new features (namely the thin design, fast charging, water resistance) should be those offered for the OnePlus Open 2 in the West. However, it will be necessary to be patient: if the Oppo Find N5 will be available in China next month, OnePlus has shared absolutely no information about marketing in the West for the moment.
