The first downhill training takes place this Tuesday in Kitzbühel, in preparation for the most anticipated downhill of the season, this Saturday.
The big Kitzbühel week is underway. This Tuesday morning, the famous Streif hosted the first training session for the most anticipated descent of the winter. The Swiss were impressive again?. Winner for the first time in his career in Bormio, Alexis Monney was the fastest in this first session, ahead of the Austrian Stefan Babinsky (+ 0”15) and the Canadian Cameron Alexander (+ 0”40).
Nils Allègre is once again the best go-getter in the Franc team, still deprived of Cyprien Sarrazin, the hero of Kitz 2024. The Haut-Alpin is at 10e rank at 1”15, just ahead of Marco Odermatt (+1”24), who dreams of a first coronation in Kitz, Matthieu Bailet (14e ç 1”28. Veteran Adrien Théaux, 3e in… 2011, peaks at 1”91 (21e). We then find Maxence Muzaton (28e at 2”11), Nils Alphand (29e at 2”23) then his brother Sam (35e at 2”89). For his first descent on the Streif, Ken Caillot was relegated to 5”10.
-A second training session is planned for Wednesday. Kitzbühel hosts a super-G (Friday), “the” downhill (Saturday) and a slalom (Sunday).
