Florentino Pérez re-elected president of Real Madrid

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez was re-elected on Sunday for a fifth consecutive term running until 2029. He was the only candidate for his succession.

“As there was only one candidacy, (Florentino Pérez) is elected president of Real Madrid,” indicated the European and Spanish champion club in a press release published after the big victory (4-1) of the “Merengues” against Las Palmas which allows them to return to the top of La Liga.

Mr. Perez, aged 77, has been re-elected as head of the Madrid club continuously and without opposition (2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025) since his return in 2009. The businessman was elected for the first time in 2000 as president of the “Galactics”, who won 2 national titles (2001, 2003) and a Champions League (2002), before resigning in 2006.

Since 2009, Real have won five Spanish championship titles and six Champions Leagues, including three in a row (2016, 2017, 2018).
