Former Montreal Canadiens forward Marcel Bonin died Sunday at the age of 93. His daughter confirmed the news on social media.

also played for the Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins. In 454 season games in the National Hockey League (NHL), he collected 272 points, in addition to accumulating 334 penalty minutes.
The 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in), 77 kg (170 lb) winger, who was notably known for his extravagance and strength, won the Stanley Cup four times, including three times in a row with the Tricolor, from 1958 to 1960.

This Montreal native was notably involved in the transaction that sent Terry Sawchuk, four-time Vezina Trophy winner, to the Bruins in 1955.
After a short one-season stay with Boston, he joined the Quebec Aces in the Quebec Hockey League. He won a championship with them during the 1956-1957 season before joining the Canadiens.
Last March, Bonin received an honorary medal from the City of Joliette not only for his contribution on the ice, but also off the ice. He worked as a police officer in the region and was a drug interventionist in schools.
