still leader, Charlie Dalin is getting closer to victory… and a finish Tuesday morning

The final touch. And an expected coronation. Leader of the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe, Charlie Dalin is on target since the Norman sailor was less than 400 kilometers from the finish in Les Sables d’Olonne, at 7:00 a.m. Monday. Now off the coast of Brittany, 200 miles from the goal, Dalin (Macif) has further increased his lead over his great rival Yoann Richomme (Paprec Arkéa), who is again more than 190 miles away. He could arrive Tuesday morning, between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m.

This gap should however decrease a little because the duo will find weaker winds as they approach Les Sables d’Olonne. Charlie Dalin has already seen his average decrease – he was sailing at the start of Monday morning at around 16 knots while Richomme maintained a pace of around 20 knots. In this solo non-stop round the world trip, the third, Sébastien Simon, is 934 miles behind Dalin. It is currently off the Azores.
