Regional 1: A suspenseful end to the match between Guipavas and the State Brestois reserve

R1. Guipavas – Stade Brestois (B): 2 – 2

The start of the match was balanced and we had to wait until the end of the first quarter of an hour for the first opportunity to be the right one: Da Silva, for Guipavas, took a free kick which was headed back by Madec, the ball finishing his race in the small net of the goalkeeper (1-0, 20′). A few minutes later, Guipavas found themselves at 10, following the expulsion of Da Silva, the latter having committed a foul on Brest’s Geraud who had to leave the field due to injury (24′). In the process, Guipavas was close to worsening the score by Madec who saw his shot pushed back by the Brest goalkeeper’s post (30′). Subsequently, Stade Brestois dominated the game, created numerous chances and managed to come back to score through Moineau who took home a ball passed by Bargain (1-1, 62′). Against the flow of play, Guipavas regained the advantage through Sadoven who beat from close range, receiving a corner taken by Bargain, the Brest goalkeeper (2-1, 80′). Just before the end of normal time, the visitors ended up equalizing through Puren who left Kervestin, the local goalkeeper, no chance (2-2, 86′). The Brestois could even have won the victory if the penalty taken by their captain Malgorn had not been stopped by Kervestin (89′). Loic Plassart, coach of the locals, expressed his satisfaction at having taken the point of the draw, given the appearance of the match.
