Guilty of a cross-check behind the back of an official during the match against Zug, Sakari Manninen received a five-match suspension. He must also pay a fine of 7,500 francs.

Wednesday evening during the defeat of Genève-Servette in Zug (7-4), Sakari Manninen had in a completely incomprehensible way dealt a blow with his stick to an official standing with his back to him and while he was bickering with Sven Senteler.

The lack of precedent undoubtedly played a role in the decision, the Finnish player not being a bad player. The fact that he immediately apologized to the linesman may also have had some impact.

Geneva can appeal, as Biel did a few weeks ago when Toni Rajala accidentally grabbed the visor of an official while he had his helmet over his eyes and he thought it was Enzo Corvi. He then received two suspension matches which were then canceled.
