Rangers are unable to win on the road. Against Dundee FC, Thursday January 9, the Gers conceded another draw (1-1), for the 11th day of the Scottish Premiership. A few days after the draw conceded on the Hibernian pitch on January 5 (3-3), the supporters are at their wits’ end.
A mixed result for the Rangers who are struggling to win on the road. Philippe Clément’s men conceded a goal at the start of the match. (6th, Oluwaseun Adewumi)
Hamza Igamane nevertheless stood out by delivering a decisive pass. The native of Témara launched Vaclav Cerny, after eliminating two defenders, allowing him to score the equalizer shortly after half an hour of play. Despite Igamane’s few attempts, the Gers were unable to force the decision .
But the end of the match was marked by a small confrontation between the Rangers supporters and their coach Philippe Clément, very courteously invited to leave the club by the dozens of aficionados, present in the stands of Dens Park.
At the end of the match, Clément didn’t really help matters, declaring that “Hamza (Igamane) was too much on the flanks to try to create an opportunity. He should have stayed in the middle.” The reaction was not long in coming and comments poured in on social networks.
-With 13 points taken out of 33 possible, the Rangers are traveling very poorly. Attacking Igamane, the best element of the squad, was not really the best approach to calm things down.
The atmosphere is not good for the Scottish club which has only won three times in its last ten trips. Second in the standings, the Gers are now 15 points behind hated rival Celtic.
