Less than 2,000 miles from the finish in Les Sables d’Olonne, Charlie Dalin has further widened his lead over his runner-up Yoann Richomme thanks to an option further east.
In less than a week, we will know the winner of the 2024-25 Vendée Globe, and Charlie Dalin becomes the favorite for victory hour after hour. The skipper of Macif Santé Prévoyance continues to increase his lead over Yoann Richomme, while there are now less than 2,000 (theoretical) miles to go to Les Sables d’Olonne. Dalin was 189 miles ahead at 7 a.m. this Thursday, or 22 more than Wednesday at the same time. While the duo passed Cape Verde, Le Havre chose an option further east, and that is paying off for the moment. Behind, Sébastien Simon is firmly anchored in his third place, while the rest of the ranking is much more unstable. Less than 150 miles separate the skippers classified from 4th (Sam Goodchild) to 10th place (Justine Mettraux), while they are all located off the coast of Brazil, more or less close to the coast. More than 8,000 miles from the leader, Belgian Denis Van Weynbergh is still bringing up the rear, between New Zealand and Point Némo.
