Lausanne launched its year 2025 perfectly. The Vaudois Lions dominated Kloten 5-1 this Thursday in their ice rink to sign a fifth victory in a row in the National League.
The people of Lausanne can only regret one thing from this successful recovery and marked by the return to play of their captain Michael Raffl: the reduction in the score of the Aviators at the end of the match, which prevented Kevin Pasche from signing a fourth shutout in a row at home. The LHC goalkeeper had not conceded a goal since November in front of his home crowd and a defeat against Davos (6-2).
A matter quickly settled
An anecdotal goal, because Geoff Ward’s men had folded the matter in the middle third by striking four times in just over ten minutes. Lukas Frick, Théo Rochette (5 against 4), Ahti Oksanen and Antti Suomela (5 against 4) deceived the Zurich goalkeeper Sandro Zurkirchen, replaced by Ludovic Waeber after the second tea.
The LHC took advantage of its perfectly oiled power play to add two additional goals in the third period (Oksanen again, then Damien Riat). And thus take a three-point lead at the top of the ranking over Zurich, which travels to the winner of the Spengler Cup, Fribourg, on Friday.
