Barça will have to sell a lot this summer

Several players, particularly in defense and midfield, will have to pack their bags during the summer transfer window to allow the Catalan club to collect around 80 million euros.

In search of money and for sporting reasons, Barça will have to part ways with several big players for next season. According to the Spanish press, Deco, the club's sporting director, will begin to work to find ways out for several members of the squad in the summer transfer window since the Blaugranas, who have lost the lead in the championship, must recover at minimum 80 million euros this summer on the sale of players according to the planned budget.

Sorting in defense and midfield

Despite the poor performances of FC Barcelona for several weeks, the Catalan leaders consider that Hansi Flick has too many central defenders and midfielders in his squad, despite the German coach's desire to densify his midfield with Leon Goretzka and Ngolo Kante. It is therefore at these two positions that the sorting will be done by the management, which is already starting to consider offers for several players.

In defense, Eric Garcia, who would interest the Premier League, and Andreas Christensen could pay the price for this decision. Barcelona would also like to get rid of Pablo Torre and Frenkie de Jong on whom Flick no longer counts. A departure from the Dutchman would be viewed favorably by management, particularly because of his enormous salary.

No movement this winter… with some exceptions?

The winter transfer window, which begins on January 1, will a priori be rather calm according to the Spanish media Sport. All players on the current squad are expected to stay until the end of the season, unless Dani Olmo can be registered for the second half of the season. A clause in the Spaniard's contract will allow him to leave the club this winter if Barça does not register him with La Liga before December 31.

The leaders could, however, accept an offer for Ansu Fati this winter, if it satisfies all parties, to allow the 22-year-old winger, not spared from injuries, to get back on track and have playing time away from home. Catalonia. For the moment, the former great hope of Spanish football does not intend to leave his club, which has not yet received any offer.
