Sports Tech Nation 2024: five Moroccan startups stand out

The startups Ai, Matchango, My Steps, WellPass and Tiki Data, selected as part of Accelab's Stadium by MDJS program, represented Morocco during the international event “Sports Tech Nation 2024”, which was held in December 2024 in Munich, Germany.

These startups, from the Moroccan sports and technological ecosystem, were highlighted for their innovations and their potential for transforming the sector, indicates a joint press release from Marocaine des jeux et des sports (MDJS) and Accelab.

Thanks to the support of the Stadium by MDJS program, these startups have benefited from support in key areas such as strategy, marketing, and business development, allowing them to position themselves as key players.

During this event, several sportech innovations were highlighted, each providing unique solutions to revolutionize the sporting experience and well-being.

Tennis AI presented an artificial intelligence-based performance analysis solution designed to enable tennis players and coaches to optimize their progress.

Matchango unveiled an intuitive platform making it easier to organize sporting events between enthusiasts, while My Steps captivated visitors with an innovative application that encourages an active lifestyle through a motivating rewards system.

For its part, WellPass made its mark by offering a service allowing companies to offer their employees simplified and unlimited access to a wide choice of gyms and well-being activities via a single subscription.

Finally Tiki Data, a pioneer in the application of data science to football, presented its avant-garde approach: using advanced data science techniques to provide precise performance analyses, thus promoting innovative sports strategies for teams.

“Thanks to Accelab, we were able to participate in Sports Tech Nation 2024, which allowed us to meet the leaders of the biggest European clubs, explore great opportunities and share enriching discussions with industry experts” , declared the co-founder of the startup Tiki Data, Idris Houir Alami, quoted in the press release.

Their participation provided them with international visibility and the opportunity to establish links with investors and strategic partners in the sector. This event also made it possible to highlight the dynamism and creativity of the Moroccan entrepreneurial ecosystem, demonstrating its potential to actively contribute to global innovation in sportech.

For his part, the Program Manager of Stadium by MDJS, Abdessamad Lahmami, said: “We have worked hard with our German partners to make this initiative a success. It is indeed essential for us to place Moroccan sportech on the international scene.”

This initiative is part of the vision of Accelab and the MDJS to position Morocco as a key player in the development of innovative sports solutions. Their commitment to supporting startups through programs such as Stadium by MDJS illustrates a strong ambition: to promote national talents and propel them onto the international scene, the press release concludes.
