Supporters of Raja de Casablanca will be prohibited from traveling to Berkane during the match between the two teams scheduled for Sunday, December 29, according to security sources cited by Hesport.
Security sources confirmed to Hesport that a regional meeting took place today in Berkane to examine the security and organizational aspects of the match between Berkane Renaissance and Casablanca Raja.
This match, scheduled for next Sunday as part of the 16th day of Botola, led the local authorities to ban the travel of Raja supporters.
According to these same sources, the decision will be transmitted to the Wilaya of the Casablanca-Settat region for its implementation, specifying that the ban concerns not only group travel, but also any presence of Raja supporters at the Berkane municipal stadium.
The reasons given include threats made and previous incidents of violence during confrontations between the two teams in Berkane. These events pushed the authorities to adopt this preventive measure.
The match will pit Renaissance de Berkane, championship leader with 33 points (10 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss), against Raja de Casablanca, currently sixth with 23 points (6 wins, 5 draws, 3 losses). The meeting will mark the first day of the return phase of the Botola Pro.
