Olmo finally registered until 2030?

Barça are preparing for a crucial battle to register Dani Olmo for the second part of the season. With the player's contract expiring at the end of 2024, the Catalan club have taken legal action to secure the Spain international's eligibility, claims Sports World. On Monday, a hearing will take place to decide on this sensitive matter. The leaders of the Blaugrana, led by Joan Laporta, argue that the registration of Olmo is a question of the right to work, an argument which had already borne fruit in the case of Gavi. While awaiting the legal decision scheduled for December 27, Olmo will play his last match of the year against Atlético Madrid this Saturday.

Finances still strained

This initiative takes place in a tense economic context, where Barça is exploring various means of generating income, such as the long-term sale of VIP seats at Spotify Camp Nou. The club hopes to finalize Olmo's registration until 2030. If justice were to thwart its plans, Olmo would become free, and Barcelona would have to fulfill his contract in full. For managers, this registration represents much more than a sporting issue, affirming the desire to consolidate a competitive workforce despite the constraints imposed by LaLiga.
