MLB: Eric Pardinho, Eric Lauer and Ali Sanchez under contract in Toronto

The Toronto Blue Jays have offered minor league contracts to right-handed pitcher Eric Pardinho, left-hander Eric Lauer and catcher Ali Sanchez.

Each contract includes an invitation to the 2025 camp.

Pardinho, 23, played in 45 games between the AA and AAA levels last season, posting a 3.25 ERA. The Lucelia, Brazil native was originally signed by the Jays as an international free agent in 2017. He has made 119 career appearances (21 starts) in the BLue Jays network and has a 13-7 record. with a 4.22 ERA in 232.2 innings.

Lauer, 29, made 19 appearances (16 starts) between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros' AAA teams in 2024, compiling a 5.26 ERA. Lauer joined the KBO's Kia Tigers in August and had a 4.93 ERA in seven starts. The left-hander has a career ERA of 4.30 in 596.2 innings with the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers.

Sanchez, 27, played in 31 games for the Miami Marlins last season, posting averages of .167/.211/.191. Over three major league seasons, he appeared in a total of 38 games with the Mets, Cardinals and Marlins.

Josh Walker also signs

The Blue Jays also announced the signing of left-handed reliever Josh Walker for one year, worth $760,000.

Walker, 30, pitched with the New York Mets in 2024, maintaining a 5.11 ERA in ten games. Demoted to the AAA level after a rough showing on June 1, he was then traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates before the trade deadline.

In 33 minor league games split between the Syracuse Mets and Indianapolis Indians, Walker posted a 4.06 ERA with 50 strikeouts in 37.2 innings.

The 6'6″, 225-pound colossus was a 37th-round pick by the Mets in the 2017 first-year draft out of the University of New Haven. He made his major league baseball debut in 2023.

The Blue Jays also announced that right-handed pitcher Hagen Danner has been designated for designation.
