Mexican driver Sergio Pérez will no longer be at the wheel of a Red Bull single-seater in Formula 1 next season, the Austrian team announced on Wednesday, without revealing who would be the future teammate of quadruple Dutch world champion Max Verstappen.
The New Zealander Liam Lawson, who replaced the Australian Daniel Ricciardo at Racing Bulls, the little sister of Red Bull, for the last six Grands Prix of this season, seems to have a head start on the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda, who has been playing in the Italian team for three seasons.

“After four successful seasons together, Sergio Pérez and the Red Bull team have reached an agreement for a separation from the 2025 season,” writes the Austrian team, only third in the constructors’ standings in 2024 while it was double title holder.
Pérez, vice-world champion last year, finished only eighth this season, which precipitated his fall. After four podiums in the first five races, he then fell irremediably in the rankings.
The Mexican will have competed in 90 Grands Prix, won 29 podiums and won five of the six victories on his record during his four seasons as Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull.
“I am incredibly grateful for the four years with Red Bull and for the opportunity I had to race with such an extraordinary team. Driving for Red Bull was an unforgettable experience, and I will always cherish the successes we had together. We broke records, reached important milestones, and I had the privilege of meeting many incredible people,” responded “Checo”.
This ousting of Pérez, which could put an end to his career in F1 after 14 seasons in the paddock, could do the business of Frenchman Isack Hadjar.
Vice-champion of Formula 2 this year and member of the Red Bull young driver academy, the Parisian could indeed recover the seat left vacant by Lawson or Tsunoda if one of the two is, as expected, promoted to Red Bull .
