Marlen Reusser is doing better. The Bernese has regained energy and plans to resume competition in Mallorca at the end of January, she said before the presentation of her new team, Movistar.
‘I can now train hard, without fear of a relapse,’ she said. The post-Covid syndrome from which she suffered for a long time seems definitively distant. “I progressed very quickly during training, it’s really impressive,” added the 33-year-old from Bern.
Marlen Reusser has signed with the Spanish team until the end of 2027. She feels ready to play a leadership role and will now live in Andorra. She hopes to quickly forget a year 2024 which was far from smiling on her, including a serious fall at the Tour of Flanders in the spring then persistent health problems which forced her to give up the Olympic Games and the Worlds at home.
Next year, she will aim for the general classification at the three Grand Tours, as well as time trial gold at the Worlds in Rwanda. ‘I’m back,’ she summed up.
