UEFA announced this Monday that the semi-finals and final of the 2024-2025 Nations League will take place with the winner of the two-legged quarter-final between Italy and Germany in March.
As mentioned by the Figaro the semi-finals and the final of the 2024-25 Nations Football League will take place at the winner of the quarter-final between Italy and Germany in March, UEFA announced Monday during its executive committee. “The UEFA Executive Committee has named the winner of the quarter-final between Italy and Germany, as the provisional host of the semi-finals and final of the tournament from June 4 to 8, 2025,” said the European body in a press release.
“The two stadiums in Turin, that of Juventus and that of Torino, and those of Munich and Stuttgart have been selected to host these matches,” adds the text. Italy and Germany face each other on March 20 in Milan in the quarter-final first leg and three days later in Dortmund for the return match.
In a separate press release, the Italian Federation (FIGC) specified that the Juventus stadium, the Allianz Stadium (41,500 seats) would host the two semi-finals on June 4 and 5, as well as the final on June 8, while the Olympic Stadium (28,500 seats) where Torino plays, would be the setting for the match for third place, still on June 8. In addition to the Italy-Germany duel, the other quarter-finals of the 2024-25 Nations League will pit Portugal against Denmark, the Netherlands against Spain and Croatia against France.
UEFA also announced that the 2025 European Super Cup, pitting the winner of the Champions League against the winner of the Europa League, will take place on August 13, 2025 in Italy, at Udinese’s stadium in Udine, the Stadio Friuli (25,000 places). These designations “represent a new important sign of the confidence shown in the Italian Federation and Italian football”, rejoiced Gabriele Gravina, president of the FIGC. Italy has not hosted the European Super Cup since February 1997, a duel between Juventus and Paris SG, when the trophy was awarded after a first leg match (6-1 victory for Juve at Paris) and a return match (3-1 victory for Juve in Palermo).
