In his capacity as president of the French Sports Internationaux, Georges Mauduit wrote to the regional presidents, Fabrice Pannekoucke and Renaud Muselier, as well as to Laurent Wauquiez, regarding the presidency of the organizing committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (COJOP ) of the French Alps 2030, to suggest a Martin Fourcade-Marie Bochet ticket.
“In 1987, France surprised by creating a co-presidency with Michel Barnier and Jean-Claude Killy, the beginning of the great success of the 1992 Albertville and Savoie Games. Why would France not surprise again by creating a co-presidency mixed with Marie Bochet (eight gold medals in Paralympic alpine skiing) and Martin Fourcade (six gold medals in biathlon)? », says the giant silver medalist of the 1966 World Championships.
“Marie Bochet knows all the issues related to women’s and Paralympic sport. For a great success of these Games, there is nothing better. And Martin Fourcade for his knowledge of all the issues related to the organization of events. Two Olympic legends and fourteen gold medals presiding over this formidable challenge, it will work and it will make a mark,” concludes Georges Mauduit, while progress on the issue is hoped for in the coming days.
