Only two D1 teams left, a quadruple, an endless penalty shootout… What to remember from the 32nd finals of the Coupe de Bretagne

Some boxes

If eight matches ended on penalties, some teams ensured well before the end of the 90 minutes. Séné (R1) against Espérance de (R1) was a hit (4-1), just like Noyal Brécé (R3), one of the surprises against Plescop (R2), with a 5-1 victory. The biggest victory is for Ergué-Armel (R2), with a 6-1 against Sulniac (R3). But the duel between Coataudon Guipavas (R3) and Perros-Louannec (R3) was the most prolific, with eight goals scored (6-2).

Six teams managed to beat a higher-ranked opponent. The best feeling came from Camaret Pen Hir (D1), winner of Trégunc (R1). The other D1 team still in the running, Plougenast, beat Bocage (R3). The formations of R3 The children of Guer, Romagné-les-Landes and Noyal-Brécé beat those of R2 Ruffiac-Malestroit, Langueux and Plescop. Also note the victory of Chateaugiron (R2) on penalties on the Ploërmel field.

Two little thumbs of D1

There were seven D1 teams before this round, there are now only two. Camaret Pen Hir defeated Trégunc (R1) on penalties while FC Lié Plouguenast won 3-1 on the pitch at Bocage (R3). They are now the two little thumbs of the competition. There remain six R3 teams, eleven R2 teams and thirteen R1 teams.

A thrilling penalty shootout

At the end of the line. To reach the round of 16 of the competition, Camaret Pen Hir (D1) had to wait for the 22nd shot in the penalty shootout, against Trégunc (R1). Goalkeeper Erwan Le Den, already decisive in regulation time, released four opposing attempts.

Scorers in good shape

Mohamed Viali shone with Coataudon Guipavas (R3) against Perros-Louannec (R3). He scored four goals in ten minutes, putting his team into orbit (6-2). Corentin Babas, with Quimper Ergué-Armel, did barely worse (three goals, one assist). Tiago Martins was decisive with Plougastel (R1), against Stade Landernéen (D1), with a hat-trick qualifying his team.

Finistère and Ille-et-Vilaine in force

Among the last 32 teams in the running, Finistère and Ille-et-Vilaine place nine representatives each. Côtes-d’Armor and Morbihan are not left out, with seven qualified teams. A fairly balanced table before the round of 16. The draw will take place on Wednesday December 18.
