Michael Hage scores a magnificent goal in overtime

While Lane Hutson continues to amaze Montreal Canadiens fans, with, among other things, his first goal in the NHL, the CH’s hopes outside the NHL also stand out.

Indeed, across the various other leagues, several CH hopefuls are performing very well.

Here are the performances that caught the attention this weekend.

Michael Hage – Center – 18 years old

Since the start of the season, Hage has been nothing short of dominant in the NCAA.

For a first season in this league, he is performing really well, which is very encouraging for his further development.

After missing two games last weekend with an ankle injury, Hage returned this weekend to play both games at the University of Michigan.

Unfortunately, Michigan was shut out 3-0 Friday night against the University of Wisconsin, but Hage made sure his university got its revenge last night, as he scored the game-winning goal in overtime.

Indeed, the CH hope gave his team a 3-2 victory with a superb goal.

That now makes him ten goals and 18 points this season in 15 games.

That’s an excellent rate of production for an 18-year-old, and CH fans can clearly be excited about him.

Tyler Thorpe – Right Winger – 19 years old

Here is another hopeful drafted by the CH in 2024 during the last vintage, this time, in the fifth round (130th in total).

Given his draft rank, Thorpe is not the most talked about and followed prospect.

However, after leaving a very nice calling card at CH training camp this season, Thorpe has made a name for himself among CH prospects.

Many fans like him, especially because of his size of 6 feet 4 inches and 215 pounds.

So I’ll give you some news from Thorpe, who is currently having a great season in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants.

Last night, he scored two goals in a 6-3 Giants loss to the Victoria Royals.

He also scored the goal that triggered the avalanche of doggies in Vancouver.

Thorpe has a very good shot, and he proved it last night.

He now has 12 goals and 26 points in 30 games this season, which is a slightly higher rate of production than he maintained last season.

If he follows a good development curve, Thorpe could very well one day become a good fourth line player for the CH.

In summary, here are the other Habs hopes who were in action yesterday.
