Capela and the Hawks beaten by Milwaukee in the Cup semi-finals

Clint Capela and the Hawks were eliminated in the NBA Cup semifinals on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Atlanta lost 110-102 to Milwaukee, who will face Oklahoma City on Tuesday evening in the final of a competition which is in its second edition.

The Hawks resisted the Bucks almost until the end, even if they no longer led in the last seven minutes. They were only one length behind with 5’18 remaining (96-95). But Giannis Antetokounmpo brought Milwaukee to victory by accumulating 32 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks.

The Greek power forward was decisive in the ‘money time’. He notably spectacularly countered a dunk attempt by Clint Capela on an alley-oop 2’35 from the ‘buzzer’, while Milwaukee led by 5 points (103-108). The Hawks got back to 103-100 with 2’16 to play but conceded a 7-2 to conclude this game.

Clint Capela therefore closely attended the Giannis Antetokounmpo ‘show’. The Geneva interior certainly also blocked 4 opposing shots in this match, but he was not dominant in the air with 8 rebounds and 6 points (3/8 shooting). He finished this meeting with a differential of -11, the worst on his team.

Decisive SGA against Houston

Milwaukee, who nevertheless failed to slow down Atlanta leader Trae Young (35 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds) on Saturday, will find another particularly fit back in the final. Canadian point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Oklahoma City Thunder to victory (111-96) against the Houston Rockets by scoring 32 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.
