N3F. In , Marie Toé quickly made her mark

A week after his match “a bit catastrophic” performed on the floor of Cercle Paul Bert (52-71), Marie Toé set the record straight on Sunday. 16 points, rebounds, snatched balls… the Basket (NF3) player was in the oven and in the mill during the precious success obtained, at home, against Saint-Pavin (60-55). “I’m happy to have reacted, especially since it was a very important match for us”confided one of the five recruits of the Vertavian club.

Convinced by one of her best friends

It was on the advice of her partner Pauline Godefroy, who is also one of her best friends, that Marie Toé, BCSP Rezé player in previous years, joined the structure led by Stéphane Jarnoux. “I wanted a National club in , there weren’t many left, and Pauline then told me to come and play with her at least for a season”says the 25-year-old young woman.

And to hear her say, she doesn’t regret her choice. “I’m really happy to be there, the atmosphere is good. It’s a club that is doing well compared to what I experienced in my previous clubs”.

At Vertou, we are also happy with the debut of Marie Toé, who quickly established herself as one of the very important players of the winning team. “We clearly play around her, she is a girl who weighs on the game. She is very basketball. Besides that, she has a big impact on her teammates through her physical commitment. She’s a true warrior, she responds when it’s necessary to win”says her trainer Alexy Frigot-Cochais about her.

Leader by example rather than by words, Marie Toé will clearly have a big role to play in the mission of maintaining Vertou, eighth in her group after 10 days, and therefore the first non-relegation team.
