Ghanaian striker, Inaki Williams, has expressed his excitement after realizing his lifelong dream of playing for his hometown club, Athletic Bilbao.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian, born in Spain, celebrated his tenth anniversary as a Bilbao player on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Williams made his first-team debut exactly ten years ago, before going on to a legendary career with the Basque club.
In ten years at Bilbao, Williams made 441 appearances for the Rojiblancos, scoring 105 goals, making him the 14th top scorer in the club’s history. Williams has only missed three games in the last nine years, either due to injury or suspension.
Last season, the Ghana international helped Athletic Bilbao end a 40-year wait for the Copa del Rey title by beating Real Mallorca in the Cup final.
“10 years of making a dream come true. Don’t forget where you came from and where you are. Thank you all for joining me »posted the attacker on social networks.
This season, Williams has already scored three times in La Liga, as Bilbao continue their quest for a UEFA Champions League place.
