Giuliano Bosca suffered a serious injury during the second training session for the descent of Beaver Creek. The Italian, 5th in the super-G rankings last winter, sees his season compromised.
The speed season hasn’t officially started yet the accidents are piling up. After the injury to the right knee of Urs Kryenbühl during the first training session for the descent of Beaver Creek, it was the Italian Guglielmo Bosca who suffered a serious injury on Thursday during the second timed trial, won by the Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr.
The transalpine skier suffered a fractured fibula after falling on the American track, as confirmed by the Italian team. According to initial information, he is not expected to go on the operating table.
This is a huge blow for Guglielmo Bosca who has been gaining strength in recent seasons. The 31-year-old athlete reached his first World Cup podium last winter by taking 2nd place in the super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He also finished 5th in the final ranking of the specialty.
