: AJA inaugurates a new store in the historic city center, fans and traders are over the moon

If you have been able to stroll through the city center of , you will not have been able to miss it: with its luminous front all in blue LED accompanied by the Maltese cross pennant, the new official store of the AJA will be inaugurated this Wednesday at 2 p.m., in the Horloge district, as the Icaunais club announced on its social networks this Tuesday.

A business which takes the place of Nexity, at 9 rue de l’Horloge, where you can find the jerseys of the current 8th in Ligue 1 and other goodies. Until now, the AJA only had one official store, at the Abbé-Deschamps stadium, on the outskirts of Auxerre. Shop whose turnover has increased tenfold over the last five years, while the club museum, AJA Expérience, open since Marchmet with great success with supporters.

“We’re going to take out our wallets a little more”

This new store is also a way of attracting other customers but also a way of boosting commerce in the Auxerre city center. And the least we can is that this store was eagerly awaited. “I took a photo to send to my son, he will be happy to know that an AJA store is opening. Plus, given how it is cornered like that, I think it’s great nice”discovers Messaline.

On match days, the young mother avoids the crowded Abbé-Deschamps store. So the arrival of a store in the city center is very beneficial. “We have three boys, they like to have the latest t-shirt, the latest AJA jersey. At least, in the city center, since they have classes not far away, it’s easier. We’re going to go out a little more in the wallet”she smiled.

His companion, David, is a fan of the AJA “since the Djibril Cissé era”. He believes that the arrival of such a store “can bring a little more people and young people to the city center, which is dying”. And to add: “All that’s missing is a small statue of Guy Roux and frankly, that would be great, we’d be done again!”

Practical and historical

Fred has lived in Auxerre for 35 years and supported the AJA. So see your favorite club set up in the city center, “it’s nice”. “I go to Abbé-Deschamps very often. But having everything in town directly if you want to buy a little AJA souvenir is a real plus. It will also be of interest to opposing supporters or tourists. “

“For as long as we’ve been dreaming of it, finally… It’s here!”exclaims Florian, an Auxerre supporter who lives near the city center of Auxerre. “I admit that it will have a very practical side: just stroll around town, have a drink and say to myself: ‘Hey, I’m going to go to the store to see what’s new.’ And then, there is also the tourist aspect Having the Clock and the AJA store right next door is certainly not the same level of history, but football is part of it, whether you like it or not. not, from the history of the city, it’s Guy Roux, and that’s what makes us famous too.”

On the merchant side, we are just as delighted. “For me, he’s the ideal neighbor”says Guillaume Pernot, who manages the men’s ready-to-wear store Smart Place, attached to the new official AJA store. “People, when they come to Auxerre, the first thing they talk to us about is the AJA, it’s Guy Roux. It can only be positive because there are people who will come to town , and maybe people who didn’t come before.”

“It will bring flow back to the city”

Located just opposite with his Plan B boutique, which offers bistronomic takeaway meals, Alexandre Faucheur is also delighted with the arrival of this new business in the Horloge district: “It will bring flow back to the city and give visibility. People who didn’t know us will see us. It’s an audience that loves football and who, perhaps, doesn’t necessarily come to the neighborhood, where you really find everything.”

The chef hopes to attract new customers, “because there are really lots of good shops that have opened recently, rather than going to the outskirts. There’s something pretty and historic in addition, you can have a good time, walk around in the pedestrian street, it’s really nice”.

The new AJA store should be full before AJA-PSG this Friday (9 p.m., 14th day L1). A sold-out meeting but two solutions to experience the match thanks to Bleu Auxerre: listen to Friday morning to win the last two places or simply thrill by following the full match live from 8:45 p.m. In the meantime, the last public training of the Icaunais is this Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. And there too, the supporters should be there.
