The Manchester United legend is not as successful as a manager as he was as a player.
The transition from player to coach does not go as planned for the English legend. Currently working for Plymouth Argyle in the English second division (Championship), Wayne Rooney could well have his experience cut short because of the poor results which follow one another for the Green Army. Currently 21st out of 24, Rooney’s players have only obtained one victory in the last five meetings, results far too insufficient for the club’s leaders.
According to The Telegraph, the next two matches will be decisive for the future of the 39-year-old technician, who finished his playing career in 2021 at Derby County. He became player-coach of the team then coach while the D2 team at this period was in a very poor financial state. He then tried a failed experience at DC United, an MLS club for which he also played. His last experience before Plymouth was at Birmingham City, where he was sacked after 15 games, nine of which ended in defeats.
