Currently 2nd in F2 and a member of the Red Bull academy, the young Parisian is on the verge of joining F1 next year. There would therefore be three French people at the wheel.
Member of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2022 and currently at Campos Racing in Formula 2, Isack Hadjar should make his debut on the Formula 1 grid in 2025. According to information from The Race, the French driver could arrive at the team Racing Bulls, controlled by Red Bull and which acts as a gateway to the parent team. He would then take the place of Liam Lawson, who would move to Red Bull to take the place of Sergio Pérez, who would be the big loser in this game of musical chairs.
In an interview with Motosport in November, Hadjar said:Obviously, I’m next on the list. It’s just a fact. I want to show my worth on board an F1 car.» If nothing has yet been officially signed, the young 20-year-old driver has already been able to observe how the world of F1 works, by serving as a reserve driver for Racing Bulls this season.
Additionally, his performances in F2 are more than satisfactory, currently holding 2nd place in the championship heading into the final race weekend of the season behind Brazilian Gabriel Bortoletto, who has signed for Williams next season.
The big loser in the situation is Sergio Pérez. The Mexican, author of a very mediocre season at Red Bull, has been in an ejection seat for several months. Extended last June thanks to its financial support, the driver is one of the reasons why the Austrian team will not win the constructor’s title this season.
Isack Hadjar could take advantage of the situation and move up a level, especially since, if he is crowned F2 champion this Sunday, it will be impossible for him to compete next year in this category.
