Drouin back on the floor

Again bothered by the upper body injury that caused him to miss 16 games earlier this season, Colorado Avalanche forward Jonathan Drouin will be re-evaluated weekly, revealed team coach Jared Bednar on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old Quebecer was injured last Saturday against the Florida Panthers, a match in which he scored twice.

Drouin did well after his return to play on November 15, collecting four points in four games.

His teammate Mikko Rantanen was sorry for this new bad luck for the former Montreal Canadiens.

“It’s unfortunate that injuries happen in hockey and in sports, but we’re going to try to compete without him. He’s a good player, but we’ve been in this situation before,” the Finn told NHL.com.

Playing mainly alongside Nathan MacKinnon, Drouin established a personal high of 56 points last season.

To compensate for his absence, the Avalanche announced the recall of forwards Nikolai Kovalenko, Chase Bradley and above all, Ivan Ivan.
