Marie Bony and Pen are exhibiting at the Dimière barn from December 13 to 22. Their exhibition is called “Portraits and Landscapes”
A couple of professional painters united in the city as in Art, each has an opinion on the works of the other which sometimes encourages them to correct a line, perfect a shape, change a color but each works with their own technique and a different inspiration. Marie Bony, a great admirer of Modigliani, favored female portraits. But she does not hesitate to take other pictorial paths according to her desires. She paints portraits with wise flat tints with an almost academic realization or others where color explodes. His works are lively, created quickly in acrylic with mixed techniques or with a knife.
Pen, for his part, although he also does portraits, paints exclusively in oil. His work stretches in the production, because he likes to fine-tune certain details, to come back to colors. In addition to portraits, he also paints still lifes, genre scenes, landscapes and, recently, a whole series of canvases marked by the 60s (automobiles, Parisian street scenes).
We have already been able to see their works in the department or other regions, overseas and abroad as well as on their personal websites. All their paintings are on the Art Majeur online art gallery.
The “Portraits and Landscapes” exhibition will be held at the Grange Dimière from December 13 to 22, 2024. Free entry, weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., weekends from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
