It’s hard to believe that the atmosphere in the Canadiens locker room is incredible right now.
After all, when you’ve won three of your last twelve matches… It’s normal that the vibe isn’t extraordinary.
It is in these moments, moreover, that it can become dangerous.
A month ago, Martin Leclerc said on the radio that he found that the guys seemed to want to give up at times because the optimism was not there.
Today, it was Luc Gélinas and Anthony Marcotte who shared similar comments.
Luc Gélinas said on the radio (BPM Sports) that he feels a bit of resignation in the locker room… And Anthony Marcotte insinuated the same thing:
We are in the locker room accepting that we are 12 shots au net after 60 minutes of play. – Anthony Marcotte
The comments of Anthony Marcotte and Luc Gélinas are really interesting to me.
Because it sure must be frustrating, losing so often… But at the same time, it’s as if the guys have forgotten that positive results won’t come if they keep showing up same way.
That’s the biggest problem right now.
Yesterday, we saw David Savard being frustrated with the referees. On the other hand, even if the officials were really ordinary in the match… That doesn’t erase the fact that CH was never in the game offensively because the players weren’t shooting on net.
How do you want to win a game when you shoot 12 times on net in regulation? And it wasn’t the Panthers at the Bell Center last night… But the former Coyotes, who really don’t have a big club on paper.
Above all, it’s up to guys to look in the mirror to see what’s not working.
That said, if they were all on the same page and everyone put the necessary effort on the ice, we probably wouldn’t be here today.
And it’s so simple to understand, it seems to me…
