In Women’s Futsal R2, AS Roissy en Brie Futsal is undefeated in Group A after five matches. Diakharia TIMERA, coach of the Roisse team, looks back on this great start to the season and discusses the next meeting.
The start of the season
“We have been working since last year on the creation of a women’s futsal team. We made a call on the networks and the girls came. From last season we started working, without playing the championship, but doing a lot of training and friendly matches. We said to ourselves that this year we were ready to start an official season. We resumed on August 19 with basic athletic preparation. We are on two training sessions per week in addition to the match on Sunday. Compared to the start of the season, we are in a good group and we are trying to be efficient with good players. At the moment it’s working well with five victories in five matches, we’re taking advantage. We know that big matches await us with Paris Futsal, Vitry in particular, and I think we will be equal.”

The last match: away victory against Viking Club Paris 2 (4-8)
“We faced a great team from Viking Club Paris. They were second to last, but the girls were told not to fall into the trap, to take the easy route. We know that they have two teams and that it is a fairly common practice to move girls from team one to team two. We were not disappointed because at half-time it was only 2-1 for us. They gave us a lot of difficulties, they are girls who mastered their game plan well with a low block and transitions. This bothered us a lot because we are not used to facing teams of this style. We adapted in the second half, we were able to play our game by being efficient and that’s why we scored six goals.”

The next match: reception of ASC Vitry (7th) for the 6th day of the championship
“We don’t know the opponent at all, I was supposed to go watch them in the Coupe de France against Torcy but they withdrew. We will discover them this Saturday knowing that we are reduced with injuries and Samia Machkour who was cut with Morocco. But we are working and preparing well for this match with the objective of getting the sixth victory in six matches. We approach the meetings one after the other without looking down on anyone. We’re not expecting an easy match, they’re a team that can cause us problems. They have the knowledge of this championship and anything can happen. When you are leader, you are hunted and then the hunters come to recover points so you have to remain vigilant.
