The former National League player and host of the popular podcast Spittin’ ChicletsPaul Bissonnette, was attacked by six men in a restaurant in Scottsdale on Sunday evening, Arizona.
This is what the Fox10 Phoenix network learned.
“There was an altercation inside the restaurant between six adult men and management. According to reports, Paul Bissonnette tried to help management calm the men down and get them to leave. The situation escalated when the men attacked Paul Bissonnette, both inside and outside the restaurant,” Scottsdale Police Sergeant Allison Sempsis told the American media.
All six men were arrested by authorities and face charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
Scottsdale police did not specify the severity of the injuries suffered by the former hockey player, but indicated that they did not appear to be life-threatening. He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
Bissonnette played 202 career games in the National League, primarily with the Arizona Coyotes. He then transitioned into media as a podcast host and hockey analyst at TNT.
