Monday at 7 a.m., Justine Mettraux (Teamwork-Team Snef), who is experiencing her first Vendée Globe, was in 11th place in the ranking, the same rank as the Genevan occupied on Sunday at 7 p.m.
The Swiss, who was sailing at a speed of 17.15 knots, was 318 miles from the leader, the Frenchman Charlie Dalin (Macif Santé Prévoyance).
She was also sandwiched between two other women in the fleet of this 10th Vendée Globe. After changing sails, an exercise that she recounted in a video broadcast on the official website of the race, Justine Mettraux was some 50 miles behind the British Samantha Davis (Initiative-Coeur, 10th) and 13 miles behind ahead of Frenchwoman Clarisse Crémer (L’Occitane en Provence, 12th).
The provisional podium is completed by two other Frenchmen: Thomas Ruyant (Vulnerable, 2nd at 50 miles) and Yoann Richomme (Paprec Arkéa, 3rd at 59 miles).
At the same score, after 14 days and 18 hours at sea, Alan Roura (Hublot) was still 23rd, 35 miles behind 22nd, the Frenchwoman Violette Dorange (Devenir).
As for Zurich’s Oliver Heer (Tut Gut), he remains 36th (at 11,149 miles) among the 39 boats still in the race.
