Wafaa Eddahri, wife of former Moroccan international footballer Youssef Chippo, involved in a fatal road accident in Rabat last October, has broken her silence. In a video shared on social networks, she discusses the circumstances of the tragedy which cost the life of a young man.
Ms. Eddahri says she was on her way to an appointment when she decided to stop at a gas station on Avenue Mohammed VI. She assures that she was driving at a moderate speed, aware of the presence of numerous schools and radars on this axis.
As she entered the gas station, she claims not to have seen the motorcycle traveling alongside her. The rearview mirror of his car hit the driver of the two-wheeler who was then thrown against a parked car. The shock, of incredible violence, was fatal to the driver, a young soldier. The rear passenger escaped unhurt.

Saying she was deeply affected by this tragedy, Ms. Eddahri confided that she was “on the verge of losing her mind”. “I screamed and said that I would rather die in his place,” she testifies, adding that she was followed abroad to overcome the trauma.
Prosecuted on provisional release after payment of bail, Wafaa Eddahri will have to answer for her actions before the courts. The investigation will have to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and establish responsibilities.
