“We rely on an iPad!” : Jakub Dobes had a lot to say about American League officiating

Jakub Dobes had a lot to say about American League refereeing after a 2-1 defeat for the Rocket in which he was sensational, Wednesday night at Place Bell, against the Rochester Americans.

Dobes did not return to the ice at the end of the game to greet the fans after receiving the first star.

This is because the goalkeeper took very badly the decision to refuse a goal to Sean Farrell in the first period.

After a lifetime of reviews, this goal by Sean Farrell is wiped out by a lengthy official review

“I don’t understand some people in this league,” Dobes cursed. The first goal, I can’t even understand how it’s not a goal. I’m not going to sleep well if this referee is on duty for another one of our matches.

“I was trying to talk to him, but he didn’t care.”

After long deliberations of almost fifteen minutes, it was decided that Farrell’s goal was not good.

“It bothers me that we rely on an iPad,” lamented the Czech. The referee was behind the net. I would have liked him to make a man of himself and award the goal, because it was a good goal.”

In overtime, another sequence sowed controversy. We seemed to trip Logan Mailloux and the Americans took the opportunity to settle the debate.

Dobes can take comfort in looking at his stats this season: a 6-1-1 record, a 2.32 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.

The Rocket will take over again on Saturday against the Belleville Senators.
