“We need the synthetic pitch. If we move up to the league, it will be essential! » It is the vice-president of the Sporting Club of Flixecourt () Ludovic Darras who speaks thus, calling on the mayor of Flixecourt Patrick Gaillard.

Essential to claim the climb

The project mentioned by the leader of the SCF concerns the replacement of the current football field, whose aging lawn does not cope well with winter weather.

Last year, the lawn was unusable for four months due to its condition and weather conditions.

It would therefore involve replacing the traditional lawn with a new generation synthetic pitch which would allow playing all year round… and at the same time widening the pitch, to which today five meters are missing to meet regional standards, and therefore be able to claim the rise.

A 1.3 million euro project… and an emergency

Another development included in this 1.3 million euro project (including the repair of the athletics track): the installation of four lighting poles, of which the field is currently lacking.

The investment is very important, but could be well subsidized… provided that the request is made before the end of the year, a sine qua non condition to benefit from the 40% possible aid to the department, within the framework of the Olympic year.

The file must be presented before the end of the year. After December 31, this assistance from the department disappears.

Paddle, climbing, futsal… Other requests to study

Pressed to move forward on the subject, Mayor Patrick Gaillard confirms that the project will be discussed during the municipal council which is being held this Friday, November 22. “But there are many other requests, all of which will be studied,” he specifies.

A second paddle court, a climbing wall, an indoor bowling alley, a new futsal room: many sports clubs are hoping to benefit from new equipment.

We need to draw up a list of priorities, but it will depend on the budget and the funding we can obtain.

Priority, the synthetic pitch? The mayor tempers: “For such a project, we need 80% subsidies. »
